Korea Saemaul Undong Center is holding the Saemaul Training for rural development-related 16 public officials in Asia and Africa from June 9th to 10th.

This training is arranged in terms of KOICA’s project for strengthening capabilities in rural development. Also, it’s for sharing success experiences of Saemaul Undong and establishing the foundation to implement Saemaul Undong in developing countries by themselves.

SO, Jinkwang, who is president of Korea Saemaul Undong Center said, “As you already know, Saemaul Undong is not typical ODA projects in terns of villagers’ ownership on the project and emphasis on the positive mind-set. Saemaul Undong should be implemented by your own hands not by the outside supports. I understand this is not easy but I believe it would be meaningful and valuable. I wish all of you play a leading role to develop your community and have a positive effect on global community in the future with Saemaul Undong."

“I have been interested in Saemaul Undong of South Korea related agriculture and rural development. I would like to thank you for giving me such an opportunity. I think Saemaul Undong will be able to play a important role to people all over the country for their better life like as Korean dramas and K-pop music which many people love.” Genaro Tolentino, director of farm mechanization center in Philippine, described.
