Declared ‘Raising Birth-Rate’ Campaign to counter low birthrate-aging society.

Launched the Saemaul Undong Global League (SGL) (33 countries joined).

Declared Home Saemaul Undong (Sweet home, Sound community).

Relocated Korea Saemaul Undong Center
(Daechi 2-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, → Saemaul-ro 257, Bundang-gu, Seongnam).

Federation of Saemaul Credit Unions beame a member organization.

Saemaul Leaders Training Institute was incorporated into
Saemaul Undong Central Headquarters(Seongnam Training Institute).

Approved the establishment of Saemaul branches in cities, guns (counties)
and gus (districts) (started to operate on Mar. 21, 1984).

Opened Saemaul Undong Museum in Saemaul Undong Central Training Institute.

The Saemaul Library Association became a member organization.
